Good to have you back BBM.
He may be just completing Hickox's unfinished RVW symphony cycle

No delivery date been given or any other acknowledgement? Mine came from Amazon without any trouble.

13th Feb - but they always arrive WAY BEFORE the deadline!!

I ordered it on 19th of Jan and I’ve received 7 CDs already that were ordered after that date.

That's odd. I ordered mine on January 21 and it was delivered on January 25.

                      I need to be patient!

Anyway, I’ve been listening to #7 a fair bit. It was released on its own a few years ago on DG and I bought it when it came out. It’s a very good performance, IMV. Let me know what you think when you get 'round to it.

Getting ready for Jonas Kaufman doing Schumann's Kerner Lieder tomorrow at the Barbican. I've listened to three versions today - all great in very different ways. A newly-acquired Mitsuko Shirai with husband Hartmut Höll, a subtly characterised mezzo realisation, something of a revelation. Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau + Gerald Moore 1959, live at Salzburg. Peter Schreier/Norman Shetler, every syllable a crystal-clear thing of beauty.

Our slightly bonkers day out in the smoke starts with a matinee of Hedda Gabler at the National. Ruth Wilson is said to be brilliant. If Palace beat Sunderland my cup will have run over.

I've had some frustrating waits from Amazon at times that have tried my patience but the Barenboim set will be worth it in my view once you get it.. I also bought the 7th when it came out and agree that it's fine as are all the others in the set I've heard so far.

Various bands and conductors. Well worth hearing some top music by brass band composers. Also during the interval, some choice music as well.
