"Hail" was not a guess, ma chère Anna... Endless research went into the formulation of that answer!

Enjoy tonight's Killing session I shall be recording it I think.

      Where's that Cloughie?

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

The hard and cold type, cloughie. Unfortunately I have to pop out now and will be away for some time. I don't think the others are trying - I got the answer in a relative trice, but did not dare to proffer it due to my commitments. I feel sure some kind person will grab the baton...
I made it relatively easy in a Cornish google sort of way in the hope that someone would get it before I went out.

The boulders of Trencrom, Sing with fervour etc.

Your answer was fine, sorry I missed it when skipping through late on!

There are a couple of possible Merritt Hails but yours will do fine.

                I time, Cali

Hoping that m'learned friend's cold is better this morning, if I may approach the bench ...

                    Arne wrote Cymon and Iphigenia

                    Gluck wrote Iphigénie en Tauride

Peter Schikele aka PDQ bach wrote Iphigenia in Brooklyn

I thus priopose that Iphigenie is the answer

                          Good news all round, Caliban

Twelve symphonies, eight string quartets, an overture to youth, and part of a bridge celebration - what J connects them?

Still hunting around, with an agreeably slack Sunday brain...
