Bravo, Mercia. Here's two things, firstly "Amen" (cond. composer):

Secondly, a rehearsal of the original calypso version of his greatest hit:

He died in 2000 at the age of 98. His last film was a (silent) part in Being John Malkovich (1999). Apparently his life encompassed every year of the 20th Century.

        Three big names here, apparently:

I'm not 100% convinced, but anyone know the photograph?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I've no idea at all who these men are... at a wild guess I have a feeling that the two who seem to be at loggerheads could be Spanish? However the one on the left looks like a cross between Nijinsky and Edward G. Robinson...

Never seen it before - and if it's who I think it's supposed to be (from left - Mahler, Strauss [curly hair, but no 'tache] and Wolf [looks more like an emaciated Debussy]) then I'm not convinced, wither!

All three are alleged to be Hungarian....

According to various sources*, this is:

Dohnanyi (left), Bartok (centre), Kodaly (right) in 1900

It's Bartok especially who doesn't look as one would expect, although google-image searching shows a few of him and Kodaly together as young men which make it more credible...

So, one "big name" and two "also starring"s?

Here's three I lifted from Google images that seem to me to display the same features (especially the receding chin, pointed nose and pronounced V-shape):

What's happened to Ethel's left ear though?
