Which Boney M CDs? I need the 'Hooray, Hooray, It's a Holi-Holiday' EP to complete my 1978 releases.

Along with 'Seasons In The Sun', Belfast is one of the all-time top socially aware songs of the 1970s.

Who'd have thought these boards would be discussing the merits of Boney M singles - I always liked 'Daddy cool' and 'Rasputin'. On socially aware songs in the 70s I always liked 10cc's 'Wall Street Shuffle' which pre-empted Thatcher inspired greed and Gordon Gecko by about 10 years!

Back on topic 99p for the Britten CFM FW CD - Haitink's YPG, Orpheus CO Simple Sym, Bonynge Soirees and Matinees Musicales and the ROHO Britten Sea Interludes. This label's product which uses DG/Philips/Decca sources seems to be available fairly cheaply on the s/h market - I've acquired a number over the last few months - a useful gap-filler in my collection.

perhaps you are thinking of Gerry Rafferty, Ferney?

you know, from the Spice girls?

Amongst the Max Bygraves LPs ( I don't need any more ) saw a pristine Columbia release, Beethoven Symphonies 8 & 9 (with Schwarzkopf )when I was dropping
some stuff to Shelter the other day. Worth the 75p I suppose. Might get it when the next load of stuff gets dropped off

It's disastrous, Cloughie. The philistine St Albanites! The only shop with a 'decent' classical collection is the palatial Oxfam Books & Music, where s/h discs go for first-hand prices
