Searching on the catalogue number, ALPHA393, the Barbara Hannigan recording is in the Naxos Music Library, with a PDF booklet.

You don't need a reason to play your second choice here, BBM; it's a great CD.

Probably not with Previn, but Gergiev’s Mahler didn’t really light my candle!

                As indeed a few others!

There’s an excellent video on YouTube of Phillip Cobb playing with a German brass group of Joy Webb’s song Share my Yoke.

                  Two EMI British Composers CDs

                  Rubbra: Loth to depart
                  Britten: Violin concerto (original version)
Heming, arr Collins: Threnody for a soldier killed in action
                  Rubbra: Symphony 5

                  Theo Olaf/Halle/Barbirolli

                  Rubbra: Piano concerto (Matthews/BBCSO/Sargent)
Britten: Prelude and fugue for 18-part string orchestra (RPO/Del Mar)
Britten: Piano concerto (revised version) (Abram/Philharmonia/Menges)

The Rubbra piano concerto is crying out for a modern recording (imho).

I seem to remember that Radio Three played a track from this recording?

                              Ravel: L'enfant...../Dutoit
Child a little too mature sounding for my taste, but some wonderful orchestral playing (as expected, given what this Montreal team did with their other Ravel recordings) so I can understand the appeal mentioned on the BaL thread, and will be interested in the reviewer's comments.
I know that l'enfant is a mezzo role, but I would love to hear/see a performance with a young boy treble as l'enfant terrible!

PS: Thanks to BBM for prompting me to see if was available via Deezer for me to listen to through my Sonos set-up!
