I'll leave it to you to work out his soubriquet here. No further clues.

Igor Markevitch. Complete Orchestral Works. Volume 1.

                      Partita. (Actually, a piano concerto)

                      Oratorio. La Paradis Perdu.

                      Martijn van dear Hoek, piano.

Soloists with the Netherlands Chamber Choir and the Arnhem Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Christopher Lyndon-Gee.

Markevitch the composer definitely had his own voice but, imaginative and well crafted as the music is, it's probably been superseded by greater works. Well worth hearing though.

                        Tchaikovsky. Symphony No.4 in f minor. Op.36

The Scottish National Orchestra conducted by Sir Alexander Gibson. CfP.

One of the very first records I ever bought.

                            Lou Harrison
CD 3 from the Music for Orchestra , Ensemble and Gamelan set.
                            suite from “ Solstice”
                            Ariadne
                            A Summerfield Set
                            Canticle no 3.

A really interesting piece,( Solstice) that wouldn't be out of place in a number of contexts.
I almost always enjoy Harrison’s music. In fact I should listen to it more.

And they should play some at the Proms. Two performances in total is all he has had there. Which is very poor, not least because it would be very popular, I suspect

I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

Yes, it was a fine and exciting performance: Joana Carneira is a name new to me but she demands to be followed. The BBC SO had a whale of a time.

And... deary me, Schiller's concept gave me a steer on Sibelius's Legends.
