Markevitch the composer definitely had his own voice but, imaginative and well crafted as the music is, it's probably been superseded by greater works. Well worth hearing though.

I almost always enjoy Harrison’s music. In fact I should listen to it more.

And they should play some at the Proms. Two performances in total is all he has had there. Which is very poor, not least because it would be very popular, I suspect

Yes, it was a fine and exciting performance: Joana Carneira is a name new to me but she demands to be followed. The BBC SO had a whale of a time.

And... deary me, Schiller's concept gave me a steer on Sibelius's Legends.
