I had to go for a job interview yesterday. The interviewer asked me: 'Can you perform under pressure?'
I replied: 'No, but I can have a good crack at Bohemian Rhapsody!'

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

An engineer, a physicist and a pure mathematician see a black cow lying in a field shortly after crossing the English-Scottish border on a train.
The engineer exclaims:" Look, Scottish cows are black!"
The physicist replies: "No - some Scottish cows are black".
The pure mathematician reacts with irritation:
"There is at least one field, containing at least one cow, of which at least one side is black" she says.

A man was flying in a hot air balloon, but realised he was lost. He reduced altitude and spotted a woman below. He descended a bit more and shouted,” Excuse me, can you help? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."

The woman below replied, "You are in a hot air balloon hovering approximately 30 feet above the ground. You are between 40 and 41 degrees north latitude and between 59 and 60 degrees west longitude."

Annoyed by this, the balloonist said "You must be an engineer."

"I am," replied the woman. "How did you know?"

"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of it or you, and the fact is I am still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help so far."

The woman below responded, "Ah, and you must be in management."

"I am," replied the balloonist, "but how did you know?"

"Well," said the woman, "you don't know where you are or where you are going. You have risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise which you have no idea how to keep, and you expect people beneath you to solve your problems. The fact is you are in exactly the same position you were in before we met, but now, somehow, it's my fault!"
"I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever. If it did, it would prove a serious danger to the upper classes, and probably lead to acts of violence in Grosvenor Square."

Perhaps an appropriate image for today

Just stumbled across some adverts for home offices and cabins by mistake.

The wording of this one, off eBay amused me.

Converted Shipping Container 40ft Holiday Home Portable House Cabin Garden room
                                11 viewed per hour
                                £28,500.00

                                Free postage
Now that would be a challenge for our post lady! "Could you just help me get it out of my (Tardis) van?

Or "Sorry - your portable holiday home has got lost in the post!"
