Well there I was in Brent Cross Shopping Centre, wondering what I would have chosen as G, and the name Gesualdo came to mind. It must have been telepathy!
So perhaps the ultimate test is no clues whatever!. We hold virtual hands, and just submit the answer!

The hard and cold type, cloughie. Unfortunately I have to pop out now and will be away for some time. I don't think the others are trying - I got the answer in a relative trice, but did not dare to proffer it due to my commitments. I feel sure some kind person will grab the baton...

the penny's just dropped!!! And I've just had a giggle. But I'll come to that...

                      Hail, Cloughie...

                      Hail, Bright Cecilia by Purcell

Cornish Carols by Thos. Merritt inc. a variety of Hails e.g. No 8 "Hail, Hail the Day"

And Kenneth Pelmear it seems composed one of the Anthems of Cornwall "Hail to the Homeland"

Which contains the aforesaid gigglesome quatrain:

                      Let firm hands fondle
                      The boulders of Trencrom,
                      Sing with all fervour, then
                      The great Trelawny song

Which in tribute to the matchless presenter of 'Breakfast' is surely crying out for amendment:

                      Let firm hands fondle
                      The boulders of Trelawny...

Might bring a smile to his face at the crack of Dawn

                      (Lovely girl, Dawn...)

I really need to cut down on the Night Nurse!!

Brent Cross on a Saturday afternoon is just the sort of place for an out-of-body experience, I suggest.

You occasionally see fully grown adults muttering to themselves "Beam Me Up Scotty" and giving a hopefully discrreet half-jump in the air
