Gosh Caliban, I am quite faint with envy. Is there no end to your illustrious connections?

I've been round the houses with Ammy's G, and only came up with Maggio Musicale Fiorentino as the Festival and Goldoni Theatre, and Holst translated Goldoni. Then I came to a juddering halt as regards Elgar etc. Is the G a composer (or is it too early for a clue if others haven't had a go?)

Is it Gwendoline Davies? She founded the Gregynog Festival, and a printing press, and championed the works of the composers mentioned.

I consideed Gregynog but then thought that an obscure Welsh place would not be generally known by anyone here so it must be something far more grand and international! Memo to self: Grasp the Nettle!!

It's all Greek to me... I have never heard of any of the elements in that G! Too busy being swanky, I suppose

                              I'm now feeling very stoopid!
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
